Lex is a professionally licensed New York State barber with over 8 years of experience. Having a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in graphic design, Lex combined her entrepreneurial skills and creativity to build Project 9 by LexPed - a modern barbering experience set on the foundation of comfort, confidence, and individuality.

 

Her journey with barbering started shortly after graduating college in 2017. Unsure of a career direction, Lex originally planned to become a New York City firefighter. But while waiting for that to fall into place, she thought barbering would be a good skill to learn and eventually use alongside a future career with the FDNY.

 

But after years of sitting in barber chairs herself and often leaving disappointed and unsatisfied with the end result, she realized there was a gap in the industry. Especially on Staten Island. Finding a barber who felt like the “complete package” seemed impossible: someone that could do a great fade and was also highly skilled at doing longer, scissor focused styles, all while making you feel comfortable and understood in the chair. This realization turned into the driving force behind her obsession with mastering the craft.

 

After finishing barber school, Lex dedicated all her time to not only becoming the best barber she could be, but also creating the best experience for every person who sat in her chair. Since then, she has traveled across the country learning from the best educators in both business and barbering, constantly refining and perfecting her skills.

 

Outside of the studio, you can typically find Lex on the beach, playing or watching sports, or hopping on a plane for a last minute getaway (usually somewhere in Florida).

 

At the core of everything she does is the belief that barbering is more than just a haircut. It’s an opportunity to build genuine connections, strengthen confidence, and positively impact the people around her. Through the private, one on one setting at Project 9 by LexPed, she’s able to provide not only a personalized haircut experience, but a space where her guests feel heard, comfortable, and cared for. Whether you need someone to listen, hype you up, comedic relief, or simply help you feel like the best version of yourself, her goal is that everyone leaves the chair better than when they walked in.
